Each piece of Resilica® is carefully made to order, and poured by hand using traditional production methods. Consisting of 85% recycled glass, Resilica® is certified as a Food Safe surface and has undergone extensive physical testing and development.

What is Resilica®?

Resilica® is a solid terrazzo composite surface, being made from recycled glass mixed with a uniquely developed binder. Each panel is cast by hand then the surface is ground away and polished to reveal flecks and fragments of aggregate, giving it a textural visual appearance whilst being smooth and cool to the touch. Our hands-on process enables us to continually experiment with colour combinations and textures along with the shift in design trends and in response to clients’ requests.

The major component of Resilica® is post industrial or consumer glass that would otherwise have ended up in landfill, or toughened glass, which can not be recycled in the conventional systems. An average kitchen takes the equivalent of around 700 bottles out of the waste stream.

Unlike most surfaces, Resilica® is made, polished and finished entirely in our East Sussex factory and isn’t made by anyone else. We are proud to be authentically ‘Made in Britain’. We are dedicated to crafting our surfaces to the highest possible standards, combining skills by hand with the accuracy achieved through computer-controlled technology. We’ve invested in equipment allowing us to process glass collected locally too, so that we can control the quality and consistency of our raw material supply.
